Agnosticism is not a genuinely neutral or balanced stance, but rather a way of sidestepping commitment on difficult questions—particularly about belief or truth—while presenting that avoidance as thoughtful or intellectually superior.

Instead of engaging deeply or taking a position, agnostics hide behind uncertainty to appear more rational or open-minded than they actually are.
